World gone crazy.

We drove over to Arkansas last Thursday. Toured Moss Mountain Farms on Friday.
On our way back to our B&B the President declared a state of emergency.
We got to visit with cousin, Alice, and her husband Friday night.
Thought about doing something touristy on Saturday, but opted to just drive home.

Some fun pictures to help with the crazy quarantine going on....

The tour was a daffodil tour, but there were tulips aplenty.

P. Allen Smith's country home. He has one in the city of Little Rock, too.

He sets a lovely table.
There were multiple arrangements of daffodils all throughout the house.

The lighting is for taping his shows in this kitchen.

Close up of the kitchen island arrangements.

Copper tub on the sleeping porch.

Cute plaid rug on stairs that lead to the floor built for his nieces and nephew.

There was so much more. I'll save the chicken pictures for tomorrow.

Spent the Ides of March talking to siblings on FaceTime since it was the anniversary of Mom's passing.

Our world is shrinking right now with the quarantine. Trying to stay home. This will get old fast.

Shalom.

Melting the clouds away.

Yesterday dawned sunny and chilly. Macho headed out early to help with the Habitat house. I waited for the sum to warm the atmosphere. I indulged in an early conversation with Sister Mimi.
I suited up and headed out for a 3 mile walk over to the lake.
And here is what I saw...

The road that lies ahead. Uphill.

Spring green plant growing in the wet run off on the lake property.

Resurrection fern in a pecan tree.

After walk achilles/ham string stretch. Henbit blooming all over the yard.
I hope the bees are using it.

Fennel. Two years old and has been transplanted from front to back. It tastes like licorice. Swallowtail caterpillars eat this.

Mom and Dad were married 77 years ago. On the 7th.
This is their announcement. I don't guess many people send these any more.

*****
We changed our clocks early. Supped early. Watched the movie "Judy" early. Turned in early. Woke up early.

And now it is today. Roast beef in the crock pot. Going to West Point to hear Felder Rushing this afternoon.
Google him.

We are on the cusp of adventure.
I will not revised the stress of the week gone by.

Stay healthy. Be sweet.
Shalom.

The extra day.

Macho constructed with Habitat most of the day. Came home hungry and tired.

I took advantage of having the house to myself. Attempted to organize my paperwork from garden club and Master Gardeners. It is now somewhat contained in two milk crates. Only slightly better.

I got a good walk in this morning. The day has been gorgeous.

I vacuumed a bit. Washed clothes. Scrubbed one bathroom. Laundered shower curtain. Fixed our internet problem. Communicated via social media with garden club and Master Gardeners. Communicated with 2/3 children and one sibling. Talked with neighbors over the fence. Went outside as much as I could.

3/4 peonies that we planted weeks back are coming up. I'm pretty stoked about that. I've planted some coleus seeds and milkweed seeds in small starter pots. Not confident they will come up since it is so early. I have more seeds. I want to put my basil and parsley seeds in soil, but I'm impatiently waiting.

I am about out of gas.

Our Mardi Gras/bingo party was a huge success. We sold all 90 tickets!

Fun friends with Macho.

Another raised bed was installed yesterday.

Macho's potato patch.

Got to get horizontal.
Shalom.

Tempis fugit.

Life in the fast lane. I haven't posted in over a month? I haven't posted a picture since December? Since we last met....

Daffodils have been in bloom. My new pink ones have buds, will post photo when they bloom.
I am stoked waiting on them.

We attended a fun 80's trivia party.

Super Bowl weekend we visited Out of Town Son.
We watched his girls both play basketball.
We visited the Budweiser clydesdales. They are amazing.

That weekend we had a lovely meal at the Sycamore House in BSL with my coast sibs.

Super Bowl food. Man. Yum.

My friend and I hosted the February garden club meeting.
She is the best and everything was just right.

We have finished harvesting our fall/winter garden. Prep is now underway for potatoes. That is what Mr. Macho has decided to plant. I am all in. We also plan to install a new raised bed to replace the salad table we are donating to the local assisted living home.

Sister Steph left some kumquats for me via Sister Paulette.
I came straight home and made marmalade. It is way thick. My first marmalade effort. I love them and will try to improve on the recipe. Note to self: call Aunt Jean. She make it so good.

Um. We bought a new car. New to us. Slightly used certified Honda Pilot.
I'm loving it.

Today we ship Flat Merritt back to Tuscaloosa. She has been with us for two weeks. We are sending her back with a long letter and lots of photos.

We are all caught up now. I'm not promising to be more attentive. March is going to be crazy busy and so much fun. So y'all buckle your seat belts and hang on for the ride.

Shalom!
