End of the month.

I don't even know where to start. This month has gotten away from me.
I have crocheted, danced, read, lunched, exercised,...

A week ago my decorator, David, came over for a consult. He kind of gasped when he first walked in. "You have nothing on your walls!" he proclaimed. I know, I said. I just haven't found my fung shui, I told him. I showed him our new rooms in the back. There I have found it. I have art hanging on many walls. We had a good time discussing the possibilities.
And so it starts. The project. I am not going to bore you with all the details, but I am getting some things done.
After David the Decorator left I was inspired to resurrect this painting. It was a wedding gift and used to hang in our living room. I am loving it all over again.
Art. Is so important. My inner artist has been MIA for a long time.
I must tell you that I have crocheted a shawl and a baby afghan this month. And. I am working on the  second shawl and another full size afghan. I am trying to use up some of the excess yarn that I have lying around. So the colors are a hot mess on most of these projects. I am considering this my first recycle program of the new year.
Use what you have.

My second "recycle" program is using the food I have in the house. In my freezer and pantry I have plenty of food.
Eat what you cook.

Our dance class has filled out this month. We are enjoying lots of new faces and bodies on our little dance floor. We have revisited The Hustle in our beginning class.
We have taken on The Tango in our intermediate class.
Friday night we went over to practice with our friends. I have to say Mr. Macho surprised the stew out of me...his Tango is soooo improved! I hope mine is, too!

We had a delightful visit with Daughter and family yesterday.

This was our gift on our drive home. It started slowly and blossomed into this deep rich palate.
How do I love the sunsets (sunrises)? Let me count the ways.

Back to earth this morning and getting a jump start on the taxes.
Chicken salad constructed for supper. Complimented with cantaloupe.

Can we agree to not discuss politics?
Namaste.

Back on track.

Cecilia came over to play yesterday.
Mr. Macho and her dad were both off work in celebration of MLK, Jr. Day. And so we did. Celebrate. And. I have decided that Chinese food is just the ticket to celebrate this holiday.
I think I will make that our new tradition.

We met in town and enjoyed sweet and sour stuff and Peking things and egg rolls and egg drop soup...and it was good. Macho didn't enjoy it as much as I did.

Afterwards we all drove home and just vegged out for the rest of the day. It is still unseasonably warm for January. For that reason we enjoyed playing in the back yard for a good while.

I am feeling more myself this week. I think I had a case of the winter blues. The fog is lifting, though, and I am moving on.

Our beginning dance class has filled up with lots of new friends. It is fun. Our intermediate class is the Tango this month. We are both making ourselves sore from that one. It is an intense dance and we are working hard at it.

We are gearing up for our kitchen project. I'm hoping to make initial calls this week to get all the players selected. I guess I should post before and after pictures. Will work on that!

Got to run. Much going on today. I am making "cookie patrol" deliveries this evening and have to run to town and find a platter to serve them on. At the Dollar Tree!
And. Have lunch with my girlies.

Namaste!

Shall we dance?

New Year's Eve.
We passed the evening among friends.
We dined.
We danced.
We got home in time to say goodbye to the last minutes of 2016 and toast in the New Year.

It felt very neat for the year to start on a Sunday. We dined on pork loin, black eye peas, and cabbage/turnip greens.
Good luck all the way around.

The only hiccup was that Mr. Macho has caught a cold.
Hopefully it will come and go quickly.
He skipped dance last night. I did not.
This month we are working on beginning hustle and The Tango!

Lunch with my girlies today to celebrate a birthday.
Much to do around the house to recuperate from the holidays.
Macho went back to work this morning.

The year started well.
Namaste, y'all.
