How did I get here?

I thought I had already posted this year. But nope.  Factor in that we have both been getting over the crud. Last night was the first night in about two weeks that we did not run the humidifier. We are so much better.

We woke this morning knowing that the weather was going to be sketchy. Predictions for disaster have been going on for the better part of the week. The weather men are wagging the tails. We are watching the teevee. Damage is happening other places. Not here. Yet. Macho just reported he had 7/10 of an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. We bought a very cheap rain gauge after Christmas. Very cheap. Add that to the copious amounts of rain we had last week. More rain to come today and next week. I wish I could ship some to Australia.

Mid January. Geez. The Nativity was boxed and stored on Tuesday. I've got my Mardi Gras beads out and about. Put a large quantity on my mailbox. Someone has already lifted two-thirds of them. Gone. I've got more. I expected some to be taken, but was hoping they would disappear one at a time.

So far this year I've finished two books. Have started a third. Going to try and keep up with my book count this year.

We have been harvesting the last vegetables from our fall garden. I have one more cabbage out back. Today I'm going to fix a cabbage/carrot/sausage dinner with a cabbage I picked yesterday. I put together the really good Greek cole slaw for my bible study lunch with one of the cabbages earlier this week.

Macho wants to plant potatoes in our spring garden. I want to grow some okra this summer. Don't know what else. Tomatoes in pots probably.

Daffodils are coming up. Very slowly. I'm anxious for the pink ones to bloom. I won them at a workshop in the fall. I've been told they don't keep blooming for many years. I'll find out sooner or later.

I have been somewhat disappointed in my hair color since I stopped dying it. I was thinking that it would be all white, like my sister's. Then yesterday, after I had it cut at my salon, a random stranger complimented my hair color! Said she "loooved" my color! Like maybe I just got it frosted?! I walked out of there thinking it isn't so bad.

I'm going to run a quick shower and get on some clean clothes just in case the storm hits. You never know.

Be sweet.
Shalom.
